The Alberton Fire Department is a volunteer service which is responsible for protecting several thousand people and over 2,200 private, public, and commercial properties. We are based in the Town of Alberton, Prince Edward Island, Canada and provide service to several neighbouring communities. Aside from fire suppression, our members are highly trained in several specialist skill areas including medical first responder, high angle rescue, confined space rescue, vehicle extraction, and cold water rescue.

The Alberton Fire Department is made up of a highly dedicated and professional group of individuals who are committed to protecting the lives and property of the residents in the area. When not responding to emergency calls, the members spend a great deal of time training, maintaining our equipment, and fund raising for new equipment to ensure the services we provide are the best they can be. We are also committed to providing fire safety education to the public.

As mentioned on other parts of this site, the Alberton Fire Department is a volunteer department. Like any volunteer fire department, unpaid does not mean unprofessional. The training the members undergo is of highly strict standards. We constantly review and update our practices in an effort to ensure that those we serve are as safe as they can be. The fact that the members are volunteer firefighters should also serve as a testament to the level of dedication these members have. They are willing to come to the aid of those in need, regardless of the time of day or the situation, without financial compensation. The residents and visitors to our area can rest assured that the Alberton Fire Department is here to maintain their safety to the best of the Department's ability.
